Bereavement counsellor in Pangbourne

bereavement counselling room berkshire

Losing someone you love changes everything. If you are in Pangbourne or the surrounding villages and you are looking for support with grief and bereavement, I am here to help.

My name is Sally Hunt. I am a specialist bereavement counsellor based in Pangbourne, and bereavement is the only thing I work with. Every client I see, every situation I encounter, has been about loss — and nothing else. That focus matters when you are grieving

In-person and online sessions

I offer in-person counselling sessions from my practice in Pangbourne, making it straightforward for people across West Berkshire to access support close to home. For those who prefer it, or who find travel difficult, I also offer sessions by Zoom.

Many of my clients come from Pangbourne itself, as well as from nearby villages including Whitchurch-on-Thames, Tidmarsh, Bradfield, Basildon and the surrounding area. Wherever you are in the Thames Valley, getting help should not feel complicated.

What bereavement counselling involves

Grief is not something to be fixed or rushed. It is a deeply personal experience, and no two people grieve in the same way. In our sessions we work at your pace — there is no agenda, no pressure, and no expectation that you should be feeling better by a certain point.

People come to me after losing a partner, a parent, a child, a sibling or a friend. Some come after a sudden, unexpected loss. Others after a long illness where grief began before the death itself. Some have lost a pet and feel they cannot talk about it to those around them. All of these losses are real, and all are welcome here.

Why see a specialist?

A specialist bereavement counsellor brings a depth of understanding that a general therapist may not. I have worked exclusively with bereaved people throughout my practice. I am BACP accredited and hold a specialist qualification in bereavement. When you sit with me, you are with someone who has heard many stories of loss — and who understands the territory.
