Bereavement counsellor serving Reading and Tilehurst

If you are in Reading or Tilehurst and you are struggling with grief and loss, you do not have to manage it alone. I offer specialist bereavement counselling — in person and by Zoom — for people across the Reading area.
My name is Sally Hunt. I am a specialist bereavement counsellor based in Pangbourne, a short distance west of Reading. Bereavement is all I do. That focus means that when you sit with me, you are with someone who understands grief deeply — not as one subject among many, but as the centre of my entire practice.
Accessible from Reading and Tilehurst
My practice in Pangbourne is easily accessible from Reading and Tilehurst, sitting just off the A4 corridor along the Thames Valley. Many people from the west Reading area — Tilehurst, Purley-on-Thames, Calcot and Theale — find the journey straightforward. I also offer sessions by Zoom for those who prefer to meet online, including evenings where needed.

What to expect
Bereavement counselling is not about being told how to grieve or when you should be feeling better. It is about having a safe, unhurried space to talk — about the person you have lost, about how you are feeling, about what life looks like now. We work entirely at your pace.
People come to me after all kinds of loss — a partner, a parent, a child, a sibling, a close friend. Some come after a sudden death. Others after a long illness. Some are struggling with a loss that happened years ago but has never really been processed. All are welcome.

Why choose a specialist?
A specialist bereavement counsellor brings a depth of understanding that a general therapist may not have. I am BACP accredited and hold a specialist qualification in bereavement. I have worked exclusively with bereaved people throughout my practice.
